The Philippine Statistics Authority finally released its latest poverty incidence data after 2015 survey. Several provinces in Visayas and Mindanao topped the list in the country’s least poor provinces. The overall data suggests that poverty incidence in the country had dropped last 2018.

More than half of the provinces in the country had managed to lower their figures for poverty incidence as compared to what they had last 2015. In Mindanao for instance, the province of Bukidnon made the giant leap from 54.13% poverty incidence (2015) down to 32.05% poverty incidence recorded last first semester of 2018. Siquijor in Visayas improved so much as well boasting 10.01% poverty incidence (2018) from a bleeding 49.71% last 2015.
